InMyBag pockets £300k to insure freelancers’ laptops

London-based InsurTech startup InMyBag has landed £300,000 in a pre-Seed round from angel investors including onefinestay founder Demetrios Zoppos.

Startup incubator Hambro Perks also participated alongside other angel investors Michael Eakins, managing director and head of insurance strategy group at Goldman Sachs and Alan Clifton, director of Aviva Investors Alternative Funds.

InMyBag aims to offer insurance tailored to freelancers to take out insurance on devices essential to their work such as laptops and smartphones.

The company provides same-day resolution as well as enterprise-grade data recovery and offers the same service when customers are outside of the country.

To date the startup counts 75 members and covers 203 items for them. The funding will be used to extend InMyBag’s marketing reach to mobile professionals.

The company recently partnered with Cambridge-based Featurepsace to utilise its machine learning technology to prevent online fraud.
