InsurTech MioAssicuratore adds ?1.5m to coffers

Italian insurance platform MioAssicuratore has raised ?1.5m in an investment round led by Innogest Capital with participation form Pi Campus.

The company is online insurance broker offering access to over 125 types of insurance. The company has agreements with over 35 insurance companies. Average monthly policy sales on the platform increased by up to 20 per cent between 2017 and 2018.

Alongside the funding round the company has also restyled its logo and website, with the aim of improving user experience.

MioAssicuratore previously closed an investment round with H-FARM and Pi Campus in 2016.

Innoges partner Stefano Molino said, ?We are very happy to have completed this operation and to be able to drive Giorgio, Carlo and their team in this new phase of development. The insurance market is going through a very important phase of disruption of business models related to digital technologies and online channels.

?MioAssicuratore is optimally positioned to take on the challenge of transition towards the online insurance market. In particular, we believe that the focus on optimizing the user experience and the technology developed for the calculation of completely online personalized estimates are key to guaranteeing the best product to the customer?.

Milan-based Innogest Capital was founded in 2006 and has around ?200m of assets under management.

Innoges previously backed peer-to-peer lending platform Prestiamoci and complementary credit and payment system Sardex.
