Metlife has signed a collaboration agreement with The Spanish Association of FinTech and InsurTech (AEFI), which sees the life insurance major become a platinum partner of the association.
Under the agreement both parties will seek to promote knowledge about new trends and technologies in the insurance sector. It is also expected that the partnership will encourage further business development and attract talent and investment to the sector.
AEFI members will be able to assess Metlife’s payment protection insurance to guarantee the payment of client’s commitments to creditors. Members will also be able to use direct marketing techniques to contract life and accident insurance with MetLife.
AEFI president Rodrigo García de la Cruz said that collaboration between members of the insurance industry is both important and necessary in a changing market.
Metlife’s managing director Oscar Herencia added that innovation and digitalisation of the insurance sector is a pillar of its company strategy.
Metlife and AEFI are set to hold an event on 25th April to discuss the market titled, How to generate new business opportunities in the Fintech & InsurTech ecosystem.
Earlier this year Metlife began accepting applications for its second MetLife Digital Accelerator powered by Techstars, a 13-week membership program.
