iptiQ forms deal with UBS to help mortgage customers get better protection

White-labelling digital insurance platform iptiQ has teamed up with UBS to launch integrated bancassurance solutions for mortgage customers.

By leveraging the technology tools of iptiQ, UBS is offering its mortgage customers in Switzerland with a solution to hedge personal risks in a consultation.

The application for the insurance will be part of the mortgage process and can give customers full cover for death risks of up to one million Swiss francs and an incapacity to work of up to 600,000 Swiss francs.

UBS Switzerland president Axel Lehmann said, “Securing yourself against unforeseen events is of central importance for every homeowner. We are pleased to be able to offer our mortgage customers an innovative offer in cooperation with the Swiss Re subsidiary iptiQ, with which they can personalize Protect risks quickly and easily.”

The new service will initially be available to UBS clients in Central Switzerland in July. Once a test phase is completed, the insurer hopes to release the service across the whole of the country by 2021.

Until its country-wide launch, UBS will optimise the platform based on experience and feedback.

Swiss Re recently announced iptiQ is now a standalone division. The company is a digital B2B2C platform which provides partners with digital processes and customers with valuable protection products. The company builds strong partnerships to sell insurance through trusted brands.
