iptiQ forms partnership with Independer to launch cyber insurance product for Dutch market

White-labelling digital insurance platform iptiQ has teamed up with Netherlands-based online intermediary Independer to launch new products.

The first product to be launched from this collaboration is Safe Online Insurance, a cyber insurance policy aimed at the Dutch market. This product was made available in August and claims to be the first of its kind in the Netherlands.

Safe Online Insurance provides customers with assistance and compensation if they are a victim of cyber fraud. For example, if the policyholder’s online payment details are stolen and used to steal funds, they will be compensated for the lost money, as well as 24/7 access to help and advice from cyber experts on the platform.

It will also help to recover any lost or damaged files in the attack.

“We are pleased to work with Independer to bring innovative digital insurance products to Dutch consumers,” said Sascha Türck, Head of Business Development & Distribution, iptiQ EMEA P&C.

“iptiQ’s goal is to make insurance more accessible and affordable for all, using innovative technology, but also by creating relevant products. The reality is that consumers experience cyber-attacks today more than ever and many don’t have an insurance cover. But now with Veilig Online Verzekering, they have peace of mind and protection against the growing threat of a cyber-attack.”

Monthly premiums for the policy start at €4.10, it claims.

iptiQ is a digital B2B2C platform that provides partners with digital processes and customers with valuable protection products. It builds partnerships to sell insurance through trusted brands, leveraging data-driven customer insights and strong risk carrier capabilities.

The company recently announced Carlo Bewersdorf would take over as the company’s CEO from 1 October 2020.

Earlier in the year, iptiQ also formed a partnership with UBS, helping the insurer to provide its mortgage customers in Switzerland with a solution to hedge personal risks in a consultation.
