Acrisure continues acquisition spree with Volante Global

Global insurance broker Acrisure is to acquire Managing General Agent (MGA) platform Volante Global.

Headquartered in London with a presence in seven countries, Volante provides specialist insurance and reinsurance products underwritten by teams across an expansive distribution network.

As part of the deal, Acrisure is acquiring all of Volante’s brands, including Aesir Space, a London-based specialist space MGA; Horizon Europe AG, an MGA focused on the European Property & Casualty sector; and all territory-based MGAs like Volante Germany and Volante Canada.

Acrisure has made a series of acquisitions as of late. Earlier this month the company acquired Spain-based Summa Insurance Brokerage, marking its entry into the country. It also acquired two MGA’s, US-headquartered Appalachian Underwriters, and SUNZ Insurance.

Greg Williams, co-founder, CEO and president of Acrisure, said, “Volante is an important strategic component of Acrisure’s ambitious MGA strategy and accelerates our value chain compression initiative.

“In particular, we value Volante for being highly skilled underwriters in an entrepreneurial culture given it’s a founder-led company under Talbir Bains. Talbir has grown a highly profitable and financially attractive platform in a short period of time. Reaching $350m of premium in just three years is no small feat and we expect this number to increase substantially over the next few years.”
