Liberty Mutual Insurance acquires Fetch’s auto insurance tech

Liberty Mutual Insurance has acquired certain technology assets of Insurance Portal Services (Fetch), which allows auto manufacturers and dealers integrate auto insurance.

This acquisition will allow Liberty Mutual to embedded insurance capabilities in the automotive industry. Fetch’s digital solution gives customers a one-stop experience for their insurance needs, offering comparative prices and policy options from Liberty and other carriers at the point of vehicle transactions.

Liberty Mutual vice president Kara Shipulski said, “Liberty Mutual has been at the forefront of the evolution of embedded insurance, delivering a seamless, value-based experience to the customer.

“Acquiring Fetch’s digital solution showcases our continued efforts to partner with auto manufacturers and dealers, and to find innovative ways to deliver peace of mind to our customers through customizable insurance solutions.”

As part of the deal, Fetch’s leadership will join Liberty Mutual.

Liberty Specialty Markets, a division of Liberty Mutual, recently launched personalised flood warnings for commercial clients through a collaboration with Previsico. The warnings are trigged by internet of things sensors placed across a house. It claims to be the first UK insurer to offer this type of service.
