Zurich to digitalise International Programs business

Zurich Insurance Group is digitalising its International Programs business by deploying technology to streamline stakeholder interactions.

Zurich said the “transformation” will significantly enhance the customer and broker experience and allow for a more efficient and sustainable collaboration.

Policy details and relevant risk insights will be available in a timely manner as a result of the digital exchange of data between Zurich, International Programs customers, and brokers. This will include structuring and managing insurance programmes, binding and renewing policies, managing claims and checking existing trade and economic sanctions as well as other legislative and regulatory data.

Zurich explained that, depending on where a customer stands in their digitalisation journey, Zurich will connect with them based on their needs either thought its customer and broker portal My Zurich or via an application programming interface (API) to a company-specific risk management system.

The insurance company said this digitalisation will help enhance the overall risk management experience and eliminate administrative burdens for policyholders and brokers.

Marcel Weiss, global head of international Programs, said, “Recent events such as the global pandemic, the crisis in Ukraine, supply chain-related issues and the ever-present risks of climate change are strong reminders of how complex and challenging the global risk landscape is. Today, businesses and risk managers need to be able to navigate multiple risks at the same time.”

Zurich recently agreed to sell its business in Russia following mounting calls on financial institutions and insurers to cut ties with the region.
