InsurTech Plum Life has partnered with Appalachian Underwriters to provide agents with access to Plum Life’s 100% digital selling platform.
Founded in 2020, Plum Life offers agents a fully digital selling experience. The company said this enables a quicker and more efficient life insurance sale. The platform manages the entire sales process from application submission to case management and commission reconciliation.
The InsurTech said it is committed to reimagining how insurance is sold. Core to its belief is the idea that consumers need and want professional advice, and strongly prefer to work with those experts digitally.
Appalachian Underwriters is a full-service MGA and Wholesale Insurance Brokerage, providing independent agents an outlet to multiple specialised markets for workers’ compensation, commercial specialty, life, and personal lines of insurance.
Will Chambers, director of digital partnerships at Appalachian Underwriters, said, “We’re very excited to provide our agents with access to Plum Life… We think this is a great strategic fit.
“Property and Casualty (P&C) agents can capitalise on the growing need for life insurance they are seeing from their clients. The digital nature simplifies the process, and the simplicity and ease of the Plum solution is a perfect fit for our agents.”
Manish Bhatt, CEO & co founder of Plum Life, added, “From the beginning, we’ve seen Plum Life as being ideal for P&C agents. Our platform is fast, easy to understand, and we have simplified the process by simplifying the product. This makes adoption easy and empowers these agents to sell life insurance.
“Working with Appalachian Underwriters will expand our reach and ensure more clients are getting the coverage they need to secure their future.”
Earlier this year, Plum life raised $5.3m in seed funding in a round led by ManchesterStory to grow its agent-only digital life insurance platform.
