Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), a subsidiary of Marsh, has acquired Focus Insurance, a personal insurance brokerage firm based in Texas.
Marsh is a global insurance broker and risk advisor operating in more than 130 countries. Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), provides business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions to organisations and individuals in North America.
MMA said it combines the personalised service model of a local consultant with the global resources of a professional services firm.
Founded in 2001, Focus Insurance specialises in customised personal insurance programmes throughout the US.
The acquisition will see all Focus employees, including vice president at Focus Mickie Comiskey, join MMA.

The insurance and InsurTech industry has seen a slew of acquisitions take place in recent months.
AmTrust Financial Services, a global specialty property casualty insurer, recently acquired Contractor Managing General Insurance Agency, a California-based MGA that offers surety bonds to small to mid-sized contractors nationwide.
In Pakistan, Waada, a Karachi-based online insurance startup, acquired MicroEnsure Pakistan, a rival InsurTech company, in a bid to become the leading insurer in the country.
In the cyber insurance space, Canadian cyber insurance company BOXX Insurance acquired cyber threat intelligence platform Templarbit for an undisclosed amount.
