Irish InsurTech Blink Parametric and MAWDY, a global insurance, reinsurance and services company, have teamed up to expand their real-time travel assistance service across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The partnership aims to introduce Blink Parametric’s real-time flight disruption assistance service to MAWDY’s network of ceding insurers, starting in Kenya and gradually rolling out to partner networks across the Sub-Saharan region.
This strategic move marks an important expansion for both companies in the African market.
Blink Parametric is an InsurTech specialising in automated real-time claims processing, primarily offering flight disruption services.
The company’s platform monitors registered flights in real-time and provides immediate assistance when a flight is delayed by four hours or more. Travellers receive notifications and are offered VIP access to over 1,300 executive airport lounges worldwide, valid for up to six months if not used on the day of disruption.
This service aims to alleviate the inconvenience and stress caused by flight delays.
MAWDY, a global player in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, operates across five continents and supports a network of 160 partners in Sub-Saharan Africa.
By integrating Blink Parametric’s flight disruption solution, MAWDY enhances its digital assistance offering, delivering improved service to customers in the travel insurance, banking, and airline industries.
The introduction of Blink Parametric’s real-time service through MAWDY’s network is expected to deliver operational efficiency for insurers by streamlining the processing of high-frequency, low-severity claims.
This aligns with MAWDY’s strategy of boosting digital innovation and providing superior service to its partners.
