Koltin, a Mexico-based InsurTech, has successfully raised $7.3m in a Series A funding round led by Left Lane Capital.

This investment round, led by Left Lane Capital, was spearheaded by Rachel Schow, the firm’s vice president, who will now join Koltin’s board of directors, according to InsurTech Insights.

The newly secured funds will be used to expand Koltin’s operations and continue enhancing its healthcare services for Mexico’s elderly population.

By combining insurance coverage with a dedicated care team, Koltin aims to provide a holistic solution to senior healthcare, ensuring financial security alongside better health outcomes.

The company focuses on providing private health insurance solutions for ageing individuals in Mexico, with a particular emphasis on seniors.

Koltin’s mission is to improve the health and financial security of elderly Mexicans and their families.

The company was founded by Eduardo Ortiz and Carmen Rosillo after both saw their grandparents denied private health insurance due to their age, inspiring them to find a solution for this underserved market.

Koltin has already partnered with a major insurance carrier to provide access to personalised health plans, supported by a team-based approach to care. The company believes this will revolutionise healthcare for seniors in Mexico.

Speaking on the news, Rachel Schow said, “Eduardo and the Koltin team are the first to offer a holistic solution for seniors in Mexico, combining proactive care with insurance that caters to their unique needs.

“Their approach not only addresses the gaps in an underserved market but also holds the potential to improve health outcomes and reshape how seniors access and afford their care. We’re excited to support their leadership in this critical shift.”

Koltin is set to drive meaningful changes in the senior healthcare space with this fresh investment.
