Zurich Financial Services Australia, the Australian arm of the global insurance giant Zurich Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of James Garrett as head of small and medium enterprises (SME) for general insurance in Australia & New Zealand.
The move forms part of a broader leadership reshuffle, with Theo Pitsikas promoted to the newly created role of head of SME, APAC.
Garrett, a 12-year Zurich veteran, previously served as digital portfolio manager and brings deep expertise in SME underwriting and broker engagement.
Pitsikas, who led the local SME team for over eight years, will relocate to Singapore to oversee the insurer’s SME strategy across the Asia-Pacific region. Both appointments are effective from 16 June, 2025.
Zurich head of general insurance Alex Morgan said, “I am very pleased to welcome James to lead Zurich’s SME team, where he will be responsible for evolving our customer offering, engaging closely with brokers and accelerating technological investment.”
