Lemonade, an AI-driven InsurTech company, has announced the launch of its car insurance offering in Indiana, continuing its strategic expansion across the United States.

The Indiana rollout marks a significant step in Lemonade’s plan to scale its car insurance footprint throughout 2025, according to FF News.

Following a successful launch in Colorado, Indiana becomes the latest addition as Lemonade aims to extend its reach to states that together represent 42% of the U.S. auto insurance market.

With Hoosiers spending approximately $5bn annually on car insurance and existing Lemonade customers in the state already accounting for hundreds of millions in annual premiums, Indiana was a natural choice for the next phase of the company’s growth.

Lemonade, founded on the principle of using artificial intelligence and automation to transform insurance, provides a suite of products including home, renters, pet, and life insurance. The InsurTech is recognised for delivering transparent and digital-first insurance solutions with a strong focus on user experience.

The new Lemonade Car product brings AI-powered automation, smart pricing, and fast claims handling to Indiana drivers. The platform is designed to simplify the insurance experience while offering personalised pricing, digital onboarding, and efficient claims processes. The company uses telematics to assess driving behaviour, ensuring that safer drivers benefit from lower premiums.

The launch supports Lemonade’s broader growth strategy, as seen in its Q1 2025 results where the car product’s in-force premium (IFP) growth outpaced the rest of its insurance portfolio. With Indiana now live, Lemonade can also offer bundled pricing for customers who use multiple insurance products—enhancing value and convenience.

As part of the launch, Lemonade released a detailed guide to help Indiana drivers navigate insurance requirements in the state. It also published new research titled “The Gen Z Driving Shift You Didn’t See Coming,” offering insights into how younger drivers are changing road usage and insurance needs.

Lemonade co-founder and CEO Daniel Schreiber said, “Car insurance hasn’t kept up with how people actually drive today. With Lemonade Car, we’re using tech to change that—making coverage fairer, simpler, and smarter. Expanding into Indiana is both a strategic milestone and a natural next step for us. With our full suite of products now available in the state, we can offer bundled pricing and smart insurance tailored for tech-savvy Hoosiers.”
