Zego, the InsurTech leader known for digital-first insurance solutions, has launched a Rest feature designed to address the risk of driver fatigue.
The product aims to improve driver safety while providing real-time feedback and personalised premiums that reward responsible behaviour, according to FF News.
This follows Zego’s ongoing commitment to enhance customer outcomes and maintain strong financial performance.
Zego provides app-based insurance solutions for ride-hailing, van, and personal car drivers. The company integrates telematics and AI to deliver personalised premiums, real-time claims processing, and enhanced customer engagement, allowing drivers greater control over their insurance experience.
The Rest feature, integrated within Zego’s Sense app, monitors driver fatigue and promotes safer driving by offering insights and incentives. It is built using proprietary app-based telematics, which now powers most of Zego’s ride-hailing, van, and all personal car policies. Drivers receive personalised feedback and premium adjustments that reward rest and responsible driving habits.
Alongside Rest, Zego launched social, domestic, and pleasure car insurance for new drivers in February 2025, demonstrating strong uptake and clear demand. The company’s technology-led model also enables AI-driven customer support, instant claims payments, and real-time engagement via digital channels such as WhatsApp.
Zego’s financial performance in 2024 marked a breakthrough, cutting its net loss to £4m from £34m the previous year and achieving monthly profitability by December. Disciplined portfolio management, pricing changes, and improved group net loss ratio to 56.5% (from 59.2% in 2023) were key drivers. In 2025, Zego has delivered 40% revenue growth, maintained cost discipline, and improved reinsurance terms to enhance capital efficiency.
Sten Saar, CEO at Zego, said, “2024 was a defining year for Zego – we reached profitability and have carried that momentum into 2025. I’m proud of how we’re scaling responsibly, fuelled by innovation and our clear purpose: making good drivers better drivers.”
