Tide unveils new insurance service for small businesses

Tide, the UK’s leading business management platform supporting more than 14% of UK small and medium-sized businesses, has introduced a new insurance service for SMBs.

Tide, the UK’s leading business management platform supporting more than 14% of UK small and medium-sized businesses, has introduced a new insurance service for SMBs.

The company, known for its digital tools that streamline banking, finance, and operations, is expanding its scope by integrating business protection directly into its existing platform, according to FF News.

The launch of Tide Insurance aims to close the protection gap affecting many UK small businesses, which often remain underinsured and vulnerable to financial losses when unexpected events occur.

By embedding insurance into its app, Tide intends to simplify access and encourage better coverage across the sector

By using existing data within members’ profiles—such as turnover, industry, and employee numbers—the system can automatically populate insurance forms. This results in a faster, more streamlined journey compared with traditional insurance processes.

The first set of insurance products is being launched in partnership with Admiral Business, chosen for its established presence in the UK insurance sector.

The initial covers provided include Employers’ Liability, Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance. Tide will begin rolling out the new service to members imminently, with further enhancements planned for 2026.

Tide CEO Oliver Prill said, **“We’re constantly looking for ways to save our members time and make running a business simpler. Tide Insurance brings seamless, tailored insurance directly into the Tide app – so SMBs can protect themselves and their teams without wasting hours on paperwork.

“For too long, small businesses have been underserved and underinsured. Tide Insurance helps bridge that gap by making insurance more accessible, relevant and easy to manage alongside everything else they do with Tide.”**

Admiral Business CEO Emma Huntington said, **“We’re excited to partner with Tide to embed tailored insurance directly into their app, making protection more accessible and seamless for SMEs. This reflects our drive to challenge convention and use innovation to make insurance smarter and faster.

“By fusing our insurance expertise with Tide’s smart digital tools, we’re simplifying protection and integrating it into everyday business banking. It’s a step towards our ambition to make insurance easier to access and understand.”**
