Prestige Underwriting, a specialist managing general agent, and Urban Jungle, a UK-based InsurTech, have announced a new partnership to deliver non-standard home insurance through Urban Jungle’s online platform.
The partnership has been established to address a longstanding gap in the home insurance market, where customers with non-standard risks often struggle to find suitable and affordable cover, according to FF News.
By working together, Prestige Underwriting and Urban Jungle aim to broaden access to home insurance for customers with more complex needs, while maintaining a seamless, digital customer journey.
Urban Jungle has launched the Prestige Underwriting Coverall policy under its “Select by Urban Jungle” brand. This enables customers with non-standard home insurance requirements to obtain buildings and contents cover directly through Urban Jungle’s digital channels and website.
The collaboration significantly expands Urban Jungle’s home insurance proposition and provides greater choice for customers who may have been declined by standard insurers.
Founded in 2016, the firm has rapidly established itself as a prominent online insurance provider in the UK, serving more than 300,000 customers. It leverages modern technology to keep insurance accessible and affordable, offering transparent pricing with no hidden fees, a streamlined online quotation process and flexible monthly payment options.
Prestige Underwriting brings more than 20 years of experience in underwriting non-standard risks. Through its Coverall product, the company supports a wide range of atypical property profiles, including non-standard construction, previous subsidence, unoccupied or let properties and other scenarios frequently declined in the mainstream market. This expertise allows the partnership to cater to customers with more complex insurance requirements.
The collaboration is also supported by advanced data enrichment and address-level rating methodologies within Prestige Underwriting’s risk selection and pricing framework. These capabilities enhance underwriting confidence, improve quotability and ensure pricing accuracy for non-standard risks.
As a result of the partnership, Urban Jungle expects a significant increase in quotability, allowing it to serve a larger proportion of inbound customer demand and strengthen its position in the digital home insurance market. For Prestige Underwriting, the partnership provides a new technology-led route to market and is expected to drive increased quote volumes in non-standard personal lines.
