Previsico appoints Mark Pinkerton as CTO to scale flood tech

Previsico has appointed Mark Pinkerton as chief technical officer as it looks to accelerate the global rollout of its live flood forecasting and real-time flood risk intelligence capabilities.

In his new role, Pinkerton will be responsible for overseeing Previsico’s global technology strategy, including product development and engineering operations. He will play a central role in scaling the company’s forecasting capabilities, supporting expansion into new markets and driving continued innovation across its platform as demand grows for more precise and actionable flood intelligence.

Pinkerton joins Previsico from Risilience, a sustainability intelligence platform incubated at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Risk Studies. At Risilience, he served as senior vice president of software engineering, where he led multiple development teams and was responsible for the technical development and ongoing management of the company’s analytics platform.

His career includes serving as senior director of analytics at Guidewire Software, where he applied modern data analytics techniques and cloud-based frameworks to insurance analytics solutions used by insurers globally. He has also held the role of chief technology officer at Oasis Loss Modelling Framework Ltd, where he was responsible for the technical design and implementation of its open modelling platform.

Earlier in his career, Pinkerton spent over ten years at Risk Management Solutions, now Moody’s RMS, working across catastrophe modelling, portfolio management and underwriting applications.
