Walaa, a leading insurer in Saudi Arabia, and CoverGo, a global InsurTech providing core insurance platforms for health and P&C insurers, have gone live with a next-generation digital health insurance claims platform aimed at transforming Walaa’s claims operations and customer experience.

The partnership is designed to support Walaa’s rapid growth strategy for its health book of business by enabling the insurer to bring health claims administration functions in-house, according to FF News.

By launching a new digital claims platform, Walaa is seeking to improve operational efficiency, reduce administrative costs, and mitigate healthcare inflation risks, while delivering a smoother and more transparent experience for customers, healthcare providers, and internal teams.

Walaa is one of Saudi Arabia’s established insurance providers, offering a broad range of insurance products with a strong focus on health insurance. As competition intensifies and regulatory and cost pressures increase across the Kingdom’s healthcare sector, Walaa has been investing in digital transformation to modernise its operations, enhance service delivery, and scale sustainably. The move to a fully digital and automated claims journey represents a key pillar of this strategy.

CoverGo is an InsurTech specialising in modern, modular core insurance platforms for health insurers. Its technology is built around AI-driven capabilities, a modular API-based architecture, and robust integration tools that allow insurers to replace or augment legacy systems without large-scale disruption. CoverGo’s platform supports end-to-end digital journeys across policy administration, claims, and customer engagement, helping insurers launch new products faster and operate more efficiently.

Through CoverGo’s platform, Walaa will be able to integrate more seamlessly into Saudi Arabia’s health insurance ecosystem. The AI-enabled and automated processes are expected to streamline claims handling, improve data flows between stakeholders, and create a foundation for future automation. The modular nature of the platform also positions Walaa to scale its digital capabilities over time, ultimately evolving towards a full-fledged health core insurance platform.

For CoverGo, the go-live further strengthens its position as a preferred technology partner for health insurers globally that are looking to modernise legacy infrastructure and deliver differentiated digital experiences at scale. The partnership also supports CoverGo’s strategic expansion in the Middle East, a region where insurers are increasingly prioritising digital transformation.

Walaa CEO Johnson Varughese said, “Digital transformation is a key priority for Walaa, and our collaboration with CoverGo is a major milestone in that journey. The platform allows us to be more agile in our delivery, more efficient operationally, and most importantly, more responsive to the evolving needs of our customers.”

CoverGo CEO Tomas Holub said, “We’re proud to partner with Walaa to deliver a truly end-to-end digital experience for health insurance. Walaa has shown a clear commitment to digitizing and streamlining its health insurance ecosystem in an efficient and scalable way using CoverGo’s next-gen insurance platform. We look forward to growing our collaboration with Walaa as our strategic partner for the Middle East expansion.”
