UK InsurTech Cuvva, a mobile-first provider of on-demand motor insurance, and Toyota Insurance Services Europe have entered a strategic partnership to launch Toyota Short-Term Insurance by Cuvva for drivers in Europe.
The partnership has been formed to address growing demand for flexible, immediate insurance options that better reflect how people access and use vehicles today, according to InsurTech Insights.
As car ownership models evolve and digital-first journeys become the norm, both companies are aiming to remove friction at key moments such as vehicle purchase, test drives, and transitions between longer-term insurance policies.
Cuvva specialises in app-based, short-term motor insurance designed to be activated in minutes. Its platform allows drivers to purchase fully comprehensive cover for as little as an hour, offering a practical alternative to traditional annual policies. By focusing on transparency, instant pricing, and mobile distribution, the InsurTech has positioned itself as a leading provider of on-demand insurance in the UK and beyond.
Toyota Insurance Services Europe works closely with Toyota and Lexus to develop insurance solutions that complement the wider vehicle ownership experience.
Its remit includes supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of their vehicle, from purchase to daily use, while aligning with Toyota’s broader emphasis on convenience, mobility services, and trusted customer relationships.
Under the new arrangement, Toyota and Lexus drivers can access Toyota Short-Term Insurance by Cuvva directly through Cuvva’s mobile app. The product is designed for immediate, short-term driving needs, including driving a newly purchased car home from a dealership, taking a test drive, or securing temporary cover between annual policies. By integrating Cuvva’s model into the OEM distribution channel, the partnership extends on-demand insurance to moments where customers most need instant protection.
