MGAA unveils enhanced Programme of Learning & Insights for members

The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA), the UK trade body representing managing general agents, has announced the relaunch of its Programme of Learning & Insights, a structured education and insight initiative designed to support firms operating in the delegated authority market.

The relaunch comes in response to significant changes across the MGA landscape, where firms are facing increasing regulatory scrutiny, evolving capacity expectations and greater operational complexity.

Feedback from MGAA members identified a growing need for more in-depth technical learning, clearer regulatory guidance and better-structured opportunities to keep pace with market developments. The redesigned programme directly addresses these challenges by offering more practical, high-quality content to help MGAs build resilience and confidence.

MGAA works to represent, support and promote the interests of MGAs within the insurance market. The association engages with regulators, carriers and other stakeholders while providing its members with resources, guidance and advocacy. Through education, market insight and collaboration, MGAA aims to raise standards and encourage best practice across the delegated authority sector.

The refreshed Programme of Learning & Insights is structured around three core content categories intended to improve decision-making and business performance. Professional Optics, previously known as Market Briefings, delivers topical insight led by subject matter experts, focusing on market developments, emerging risks and practical perspectives shared by MGAA members.

A newly introduced category, Compass Spotlight: Navigating Knowledge Together, provides timely updates on industry developments, regulatory change and emerging trends. This stream is designed to enhance strategic awareness and keep members aligned in a fast-moving and increasingly complex market.

The programme also includes Learning (Technical) Insights, developed by MGAA to offer deeper technical expertise across critical operational areas. These include compliance, technical underwriting, technical claims, personal lines, and operations and finance, reflecting the breadth of knowledge required to run an MGA effectively.

All sessions are aligned with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Professional Map, giving members access to a recognised industry benchmark and supporting the development of core competencies and technical capability across the insurance profession.
