Chubb has partnered with Safe Harbor Marinas, the world’s largest owner and operator of marinas, to become the preferred insurance provider for its members.
The collaboration aims to expand access to tailored marine insurance for boating enthusiasts across Safe Harbor’s marina network, offering coverage designed to protect vessels and enhance the overall boating experience.
Under the agreement, Chubb will provide insurance options specifically developed for recreational boat owners using Safe Harbor facilities. The partnership is intended to integrate insurance access more closely into the marina ecosystem, allowing members to secure coverage aligned with how and where their boats are used.
The arrangement reflects the growing use of affinity and ecosystem-based distribution models in insurance, where carriers partner with lifestyle and leisure platforms to offer more contextual and embedded coverage solutions. In recreational boating, insurance needs often vary significantly depending on vessel type, location and usage patterns.
Kimberly Finlay, Senior Vice President and Recreational Marine Leader within Personal Risk Services at Chubb, said, “We’re thrilled that Safe Harbor has entrusted Chubb to help protect its members and enhance their time on the water. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to providing boating enthusiasts with exceptional coverage and service tailored to their needs.”
For Safe Harbor Marinas, the partnership is expected to strengthen the value proposition for its membership base by incorporating insurance access more directly into the marina experience. For Chubb, the agreement further expands its presence in specialty personal lines and the recreational marine segment, where bespoke underwriting and service remain key differentiators.
The deal also highlights how insurers are increasingly partnering with lifestyle platforms and membership networks to reach customers through environments where insurance needs naturally arise.
