Heathos expands platform to simplify life insurance distribution

InsurTech Heathos has launched a unified life insurance platform designed to integrate life cover into the same operational environment agencies already use for health and supplemental products.

The platform combines multiple carriers, coverage levels and commission reporting within a single back-office system, allowing agencies to manage life insurance alongside other products through a unified workflow rather than separate tools.

The launch targets a long-standing challenge in life insurance distribution. Around 102 million American adults say they need life insurance or need more coverage, yet agencies often struggle to scale distribution due to fragmented technology and administrative complexity.

Historically, agencies have had to operate across multiple carrier portals, separate underwriting systems and disconnected commission reporting platforms. For agencies working with several carriers across health and life products, this can mean juggling multiple portals, underwriting processes and commission statements.

Heathos said its new platform consolidates quoting, underwriting, enrolment, distribution and commission tracking into a single operating framework. By removing the need for separate systems, the company aims to reduce administrative overhead and allow agencies to expand life insurance sales more efficiently.

Todd Baxter, President and Chief Executive Officer, Heathos, said, “Life insurance has long been an underused growth channel for agencies because the operational barriers were too high. Heathos is removing that friction so agencies can grow life business more efficiently and with better economics, without adding back-office strain.”

The platform builds on Heathos’ existing infrastructure, which already includes carrier partnerships, enrolment architecture and a multi-category distribution model. Agencies using the system can now cross-sell life insurance products within the same processes and reporting structure they already use for health and supplemental cover.

The solution also extends the company’s Blended Agent Model, enabling agencies distributing health and supplemental insurance through Heathos to add life products without adopting additional platforms or workflows.

Heathos operates as a broader insurance services ecosystem that includes FirstEnroll, which manages enrolment and billing administration, AdminOne, focused on claims processing, and Sonic, which oversees direct carrier contracting. Together, the group is designed to simplify distribution and improve operational efficiency for agencies, carriers and policyholders.
