Root, a technology-driven car insurance provider, has launched a 24-hour agent appointment programme, enabling independent insurance agents to complete onboarding and begin selling policies within a single day.
The initiative is designed to remove friction from traditional onboarding processes, which often take weeks, and give agents faster access to new revenue opportunities.
By compressing the timeline into a fully digital, one-day experience, Root aims to accelerate agency growth and expand access to its products.
Root operates as an InsurTech focused on modernising car insurance through data, automation and digital-first distribution. Its platform supports streamlined underwriting, pricing and policy management, helping both customers and agents interact with insurance products more efficiently.
The new programme leverages automation, digital contracting and simplified workflows to fast-track agent onboarding. Since its launch in 2025, Root has appointed more than 7,500 agents, including approximately 2,400 in 2026 alone, reflecting rapid adoption of the model.
Agents can request an appointment online and complete vetting within 24 hours, gaining access to a dedicated portal that provides fast, accurate and bindable quotes. The programme is available to qualified agents across most states where Root operates.
Root said the initiative is designed to support agencies of all sizes, particularly small and mid-sized firms looking to expand carrier access and compete more effectively. By lowering traditional barriers, the programme enables agents to move at the pace of modern business while maintaining underwriting standards.
The company continues to grow its national agent network as part of a broader strategy to modernise insurance distribution. It currently works with more than 15,000 independent agents and over 4,000 approved agencies.
