MSPAlliance, a certification and operational standards body for managed service providers (MSPs), has joined forces with MSP-focused legal firm Monjur and cyber insurance specialist UKON in a strategic partnership aimed at raising operational standards across the managed service provider profession.
The collaboration centres on three areas the organisations describe as foundational to MSP success: certification, contracts, and insurance. Through joint programmes, peer engagement initiatives, and market-facing guidance, the three firms intend to give MSPs a more comprehensive framework for building resilient, scalable businesses.
Each partner brings a distinct specialism to the arrangement. MSPAlliance contributes its work on certification, standards, and operational maturity. Monjur offers contract intelligence tailored specifically to MSPs, drawing on attorney supervision and 25 years of legal experience in the sector. UKON provides cyber insurance and risk transfer solutions built around the realities of managed services delivery.
The underlying premise of the partnership is that these three disciplines, legal, operational, and insurance, are more closely linked than is often recognised. The organisations argue that MSPs which treat them as separate functions leave themselves more exposed, while those that integrate them into a unified risk management approach are better placed to serve clients in a complex operating environment.
MSPAlliance CEO Charles Weaver said, “For years, we have said that MSP success depends on more than technical skill alone. It requires operational discipline, sound legal agreements, and insurance coverage that reflects how MSPs really work. This partnership with Monjur and UKON brings those three pillars together in a practical way that can help the profession raise its standards and better prepare for what lies ahead.”
Monjur CEO Rob Scott said, “MSPs have historically treated contracts, compliance, and insurance as separate disciplines, but in practice they’re deeply connected. The strongest MSPs build these functions into a single risk management strategy. When your contracts align with how you actually deliver services, legal becomes more than protection. It becomes an operational advantage. This partnership helps MSPs bring those conversations together in a practical, actionable way.”
