Seltzer Group Partners, a Pennsylvania-based insurance provider, has acquired Trego Insurance Agency, bringing the Berks County agency’s commercial and personal lines business into its wider insurance operation.
The acquisition gives Seltzer a larger presence in a market where it already has an established client base. Trego’s team and existing customer relationships will become part of Seltzer’s wider operation.
Trego was founded in 2020 as an independent insurance agency and serves commercial and personal lines customers across Pennsylvania and neighbouring states. Seltzer Group Partners was founded in 1948 and provides insurance solutions to individuals and businesses across Pennsylvania, covering a range of personal and commercial insurance requirements.
The two businesses had an existing relationship before the acquisition, having been part of the same independent insurance network since 2020. This provided a prior connection between their operations and client-service models.
The transaction continues a broader pattern of independent insurance agencies combining with larger organisations while retaining their existing customer relationships and local operations. In this case, Seltzer said the businesses intend to maintain a focus on client relationships following the acquisition.
