IntellectAI has used its Broker Appreciation Month (BAM) campaign, which ran throughout July, to surface the operational friction still holding back wholesale insurance distribution, arguing that genuine appreciation for brokers means fixing the technology gaps that slow them down rather than offering standard thank yous.
Over the course of the month, IntellectAI ran its Byte Size Briefings webinar series, took part in interviews on ConversAItions w/ IntellectAI, and published case studies examining the last mile of commercial insurance digitisation, looking at how wholesale placement is evolving, what hurdles persist, and where the market is already seeing gains.
One of IntellectAI’s key findings was an awareness gap around distribution ecosystems. Brokers feel the daily pain of manual placement workflows, but many remain unfamiliar with what a genuine Distribution Ecosystem can offer.
Historically, brokers have had to juggle disparate point solutions or rely on their Agency Management System (AMS) as a default hub, despite it being built as a passive repository rather than an active growth engine. IntellectAI found that once brokers saw its ecosystem blueprints, the appeal was immediate, since tools such as Xponent for Distribution sit alongside existing workflows rather than forcing a full core system overhaul.
Data fragmentation emerged as another major bottleneck. Wholesale brokers frequently receive incomplete or error-ridden submissions from retail agents, forcing them to spend hours chasing missing details or scouring external sources to patch gaps before a file reaches a carrier.
IntellectAI’s Risk Analyst tool addresses this by scanning thousands of data sources to validate and enrich submissions in real time, producing cleaner packages that IntellectAI said are fast-tracked to quote stage rather than languishing in manual review piles.
The campaign also highlighted how domain-specific AI is shifting from novelty to genuine protection against Errors and Omissions (E&O) liability. During peak renewal periods, manually cross-checking quotes, binders and policy PDFs for mismatches is a significant operational risk. IntellectAI’s Magic Placement tool, built on its Purple Fabric AI platform, was shown to cut document review times by up to 75%, matching carrier documents automatically and surfacing hidden discrepancies within seconds.
