MetLife, a global provider of insurance, employee benefits and financial services, has announced a strategic partnership with SKYGEN to improve how dental providers interact with insurance carriers by simplifying the credentialing process.

Through the collaboration, MetLife will integrate SKYGEN’s Dental Hub into its provider experience, offering a single platform for managing credentialing and directory updates, according to InsurTech Insights.

MetLife’s goal with the integration is to streamline the way its network of dental providers communicates and collaborates with all payer partners.

The Dental Hub centralises primary source verification, removing the need for repetitive and time-consuming recredentialing processes every three years. This digital upgrade is expected to significantly enhance transparency and reduce administrative burdens on dental professionals.

MetLife, headquartered in New York, is one of the world’s leading financial services companies, offering insurance, annuities, employee benefits and asset management. It serves approximately 100 million customers and operates in more than 40 countries.

SKYGEN, based in the United States, provides digital transformation solutions for healthcare payers and providers, focusing on vision and dental benefit management. Its platforms are designed to optimise operational efficiency and improve provider engagement in a rapidly evolving healthcare ecosystem.

The integration of SKYGEN’s Dental Hub into MetLife’s operations represents a step forward in the insurer’s commitment to embracing digital tools to better support its provider network and improve patient access to quality oral care. The centralised platform will enable providers to interact with multiple payer partners from one interface, eliminating redundant processes and streamlining updates.

This partnership underscores MetLife’s ongoing strategy to leverage technology for better healthcare delivery. By removing traditional barriers in the credentialing process, the insurer is creating a more seamless and accessible system for dental professionals and their patients.

“We recognise the common pain points providers face when navigating credentialing and payer-specific processes. By teaming up with SKYGEN, we are offering our network a transparent, digital hub that not only streamlines administrative tasks but also expands patient access to quality oral care,” MetLife chief dental officer Dr. Peter Fuentes said.

“We are thrilled to partner with MetLife, a company dedicated to evolving with the needs of its customers and providers. Traditional credentialing has long been a challenge for dental professionals. By adopting the Dental Hub, MetLife is eliminating this pain point and bringing much-needed efficiency to the industry,” SKYGEN chief innovation and growth officer John Schaak said.
