TravelPerk, a Barcelona-based business travel and expense management platform, has teamed up with Battleface, a global travel insurance provider, to offer integrated travel insurance solutions for business travellers across Europe.
The partnership is designed to simplify and enhance insurance access for business travellers by embedding medical and baggage coverage directly within the TravelPerk booking platform, according to InsurTech Insights.
This move comes in response to common gaps in coverage experienced by business travellers—nearly 30% of whom, according to TravelPerk’s research, have faced medical issues during work trips that were not covered by their existing policies. Additionally, 39% reported not being protected in instances of lost luggage.
Founded in 2015, TravelPerk has raised $860m to date and has become a leading travel management solution catering to high-profile clients such as Wise and Red Bull. The platform offers a comprehensive suite of tools including flexible cancellation policies that allow travellers to recoup up to 80% of their expenses.
Battleface, on the other hand, provides customisable, tech-driven insurance products designed for modern travellers. The firm’s solutions include 24/7 global support and a focus on embedding protection directly into travel ecosystems to enhance both security and convenience.
The collaboration signals a broader trend within the travel technology space to integrate risk management features into core services. By embedding insurance into the booking flow, TravelPerk and Battleface are aiming to streamline protection and eliminate post-booking coverage gaps for European business travellers.
The new insurance option is now available directly on the TravelPerk platform, allowing users to add protection during the booking process, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum coverage.
