This marks COVU’s sixth acquisition as part of its Rolling Thunder campaign aimed at expanding its presence and capabilities across the state, according to FF News.

The acquisition furthers COVU’s strategy to enhance its AI-native platform by partnering with high-quality insurance agencies.

While the financial value of the deal was not disclosed, the move is seen as a significant step towards increasing scale, reach, and flexibility for agency owners across California.

Mitchell Insurance Agency is renowned for its personalised customer service, experienced team, and strong relationships with carriers such as Mercury and Safeco.

The agency manages a healthy mix of personal and commercial lines clients and boasts a revenue retention rate of 113%, contributing both stability and scale to COVU’s expanding footprint.

COVU operates a remote-first, AI-supported platform designed to improve operational efficiency without sacrificing the high-touch experience customers expect. The platform enables agency partners to modernise, grow, or exit on their own terms while preserving key relationships with customers, staff, and carriers.

This acquisition aligns with COVU’s mission to respect the core strengths of agencies—relationships, reputation, and care—while deepening its commitment to the California insurance market. By integrating Mitchell Insurance Agency, COVU emphasises that AI-native does not mean agency-less but future-ready.
