nettle, an AI-powered risk assessment and report generation platform for commercial insurers, has joined Guidewire’s InsurTech Vanguards programme.
Through the collaboration, nettle gains access to a global community of cutting-edge InsurTech providers and deeper exposure within the P&C ecosystem, according to FF News.
The initiative aims to connect insurers with novel technologies and enhance their understanding of how to integrate these tools effectively.
nettle’s core offering focuses on automating and enhancing the risk assessment process. The platform enables risk engineering and underwriting teams to enrich client data with tailored insights from multiple sources, including NatCat data, historical loss information, and industry standards. Users can analyse on-site data such as images, voice notes, and documents via an intuitive mobile app. nettle’s AI tools then generate detailed risk reports instantly, complete inspection surveys, provide risk scores, and produce actionable recommendations. The system also supports multilingual report analysis, allowing users to extract key insights rapidly from any format.

The programme supports startups and technology providers by offering strategic guidance, advocacy, and access to Guidewire’s customer network. By bringing nettle into its InsurTech Vanguards cohort, Guidewire reinforces its mission to spotlight emerging technologies that can deliver real value to insurers.
With up to 40% of risk engineers projected to retire in the next five years, nettle’s AI capabilities arrive at a critical juncture for the industry. The partnership seeks to provide insurers with tools that improve productivity—reportedly up to fivefold—while supporting workforce transitions.
