Kinetic Insurance, a managing general underwriter (MGU) specialising in workers’ compensation, has selected Novidea, a provider of cloud-based insurance management solutions, to modernise and scale its operations.

The decision to implement Novidea’s platform comes amid rapid growth for Kinetic, which previously relied on manual tools like Google Sheets to manage key aspects of its policy lifecycle.

As its business expanded, this approach led to inefficiencies such as data silos, limited reporting capabilities, and challenges with compliance and auditability.

Kinetic turned to Novidea’s platform to support its operational needs and prepare for future scalability. According to the company, the new system has already delivered results, including a 24% increase in submission volume between 2023 and 2024 and a 75% year-over-year increase in its book of business.

Following a thorough vendor evaluation process, Kinetic chose Novidea for its enterprise-grade capabilities designed specifically for MGUs and MGAs. Novidea’s modular architecture and open APIs enabled a fast deployment and seamless integration with tools like Tableau, improving data visualisation and analysis.

The platform now allows Kinetic to manage policies, submissions, and stakeholder communications—across insureds, brokers, and carriers—through a centralised interface. The unified data model ensures consistent access across departments, while supporting the creation of an auditable system of record that helps the business meet regulatory requirements.

Kinetic is backed by prominent investors including Nationwide, Primary, Prologis, and Crosslink Capital, and works with insurance agencies across the country to provide policyholders with wearable tech and data-driven safety tools that reduce workplace injuries.

Kinetic Insurance co-founder and chief strategy officer Haytham Elhawary said, “The Novidea platform has empowered Kinetic to process more than 10,000 submissions on the platform while giving us 24/7 access to the data we need to understand our business. The ability to access a single source of reliable data across departments and manage all of our policies and stakeholders, including insureds, brokers, and carriers, through a single pane of glass makes us more efficient, so we can scale faster and better meet the needs of our customers. We also have the ability to create an auditable system of record, keeping us in compliance with industry regulations. With Novidea serving as our foundation, we now have a modern platform on which we can build automations for future services and products.”

Novidea chief revenue officer Jeff Heine said, “Kinetic is an innovative leader in the workers’ compensation insurance sector, bringing a modern, data-driven approach to risk product and customer service delivery. We’re honoured to be their insurance management platform of choice, helping them scale their business.”
