Alleva launches real-time insurance verification tool

Alleva, a leading electronic medical records (EMR) platform for behavioural health, has introduced a new instant, self-service Verification of Benefits (VOB) feature designed to help admissions and billing teams confirm insurance coverage in real time without leaving the Alleva platform.

The automated VOB tool allows behavioural health providers to verify a client’s insurance eligibility instantly, removing the need for support tickets, third-party logins, or separate systems.

According to the company, this new functionality is expected to reduce admission delays, accelerate revenue cycle processes, and provide full control over benefit checks through clear usage reporting.

Alleva vice president of product Les Wilson said, “We built this tool based on real customer feedback. It delivers the real-time control and transparency our customers need to speed up admissions and streamline billing—all from within the same platform.”

The launch marks a significant step towards Alleva’s goal of creating a fully connected behavioural health platform, integrating admissions, billing, insights, and care coordination in a single system.

By removing the need for manual insurance verification, the company says it can help clinicians and administrative staff spend more time focusing on patient care and less on repetitive paperwork.

The tool’s main features include the ability to run real-time, self-service insurance checks without delays or extra steps, transparent cost and usage tracking on a pay-per-check basis, and complete integration with Alleva’s existing EMR workflows—eliminating the need to switch between portals.

This, the company adds, can also speed up client onboarding and reduce reimbursement delays, creating a smoother process for both providers and patients.
