Cytora powers TransRe’s digital reinsurance shift

TransRe has joined forces with digital risk processing platform Cytora to digitise its global facultative reinsurance operations, deploying Cytora’s agentic AI-powered Concierge service to overhaul its underwriting workflows.

The move is aimed at increasing the volume of facultative submissions the reinsurer can process, while cutting costs, improving the accuracy of data ingestion, and freeing up underwriting and claims teams to focus on more complex decision-making.

The partnership will see TransRe integrate Concierge across its worldwide operations, using the generative AI-driven platform to streamline risk submission handling.

Cytora CEO Richard Hartley said, “Risk digitization is having a tremendous impact across all major workflows and is demonstrating a clear path to a scalable business model where growth in premium is increasingly decoupled from growth in expense. TransRe has a compelling vision to use Generative AI as a foundation for business growth with improved control over risk selection and enhanced service. Our partnership will enable TransRe to drive profitable growth across their facultative business.”

TransRe COO Matt Mahoney said, “Facultative insurance is a high-flow business, and we have been impressed by the  functionality and scalability of Cytora’s platform. We are excited to work together  to drive digitization across our business. Cytora helps us augment  our underwriting  and claims professionals, which in turn will improve our service to our business partners.”

The announcement comes shortly after Cytora unveiled its Unified Risk Reasoning capability, an industry-first update to its digital risk processing platform. This feature is designed to fully automate pre-decisioning workflows, solving the longstanding challenge of achieving end-to-end workflow digitisation.

By advancing beyond data collection, Unified Risk Reasoning can automatically review, select, and finalise the key fields on which risk decisions are based. Cytora says this development will allow insurers, brokers, and reinsurers to significantly accelerate automation, boost efficiency, and cut operational costs.

Cytora is recognised as a pioneer in using generative and agentic AI to digitise commercial risk transfer workflows, offering high performance, configurability, and scalability across enterprises. Its solutions are used by insurers and reinsurers to grow premium flow, refine risk selection, and enhance broker and client service.
