Steadily scales ZestyAI tech to strengthen property underwriting

ZestyAI, the provider of AI-driven property risk analytics, and Steadily, a fast-growing rental property insurer, have expanded their partnership to enhance underwriting with advanced hail and wind risk models.

The collaboration builds on an initial rollout in 2024, with Steadily now broadening its use of ZestyAI’s property-specific insights to better assess storm exposure and fuel growth in high-risk regions, according to FF News.

The models are designed to support insurers by delivering more precise underwriting at a property-by-property level.

ZestyAI develops artificial intelligence platforms that predict the likelihood and severity of weather-related claims by combining localised climatology with property-specific features.

Unlike traditional risk models, which rely on ZIP code or territory-level assessments, the firm’s solutions leverage real-world claims data and provide transparent explanations of the risk scores.

Steadily, with $300m in annualised gross written premium, is one of the fastest-growing insurers in the US. The company focuses on rental properties, offering coverage to landlords nationwide.

ZestyAI’s Z-HAIL and Z-WIND models assess storm risk at parcel level, factoring in roof condition, structural complexity, historical losses and storm exposure.

The company’s severe convective storm models are approved by regulators in 19 states and adopted by several major insurers.

“Expanding our use of ZestyAI’s hail and wind models reaffirms our commitment to precision and efficiency in landlord underwriting. These insights help us make informed decisions quickly and manage exposure with greater confidence,” Steadily co-founder and COO Datha Santomieri said.

“Steadily is modernizing a critical segment of the market with their customer-centric, tech-forward approach,” ZestyAI founder and CEO Attila Toth said. “We’re proud to support their growth with AI-driven insights that enable better pricing, smarter underwriting, and more resilient portfolios.”
