Santam, Africa’s largest short-term insurer, Alchemy Technology Services, a systems integration specialist, and Buckhill, a cloud-based insurance technology provider, have partnered to launch a new Lloyd’s PAS.
The platform supports Santam Syndicate 1918 and was delivered in under three months, combining Buckhill’s C2MS® technology with Alchemy’s programme governance and ecosystem coordination.
Built in collaboration with specialist insurance technology partners, the platform was configured to support accelerator products developed alongside Santam.
Approved late last year, the solution was delivered on budget and in under three months, highlighting the effectiveness of a modern, ecosystem-driven approach to digital insurance operations.
Alchemy Technology Services acted as the system integrator, coordinating delivery and selecting key technology partners, while Buckhill deployed its C2MS® cloud-based PAS, integrating components to support Santam’s open market, consortia, and line-slip business and meet Lloyd’s requirements.
The platform has been operational since 1 January 2026 and establishes a repeatable framework for future new entrants into the Lloyd’s market. It exemplifies how modern technology, combined with specialist expertise, can replace legacy systems and accelerate international expansion.
