Markel, the insurance arm of Markel Group Inc., has entered into a new collaboration with Upfort to offer eligible US cyber policyholders access to additional cybersecurity tools.
The partnership is designed to complement insurance coverage with preventative technology aimed at reducing exposure to cyber incidents.
The move reflects Markel’s strategy to address the rising frequency and severity of cyber threats affecting middle-market businesses. By integrating cybersecurity capabilities alongside insurance products, the insurer aims to support clients across the full lifecycle of a cyber event, with a stronger emphasis on prevention and preparedness.
Through the collaboration, Upfort Shield is now available to eligible Markel cyber policyholders in the US. The platform includes features such as advanced email security, continuous monitoring, endpoint protection and employee training. Service availability and pricing may vary depending on policy terms.
The partnership also enables Markel to access security-related insights that can support more informed underwriting and the development of tailored cyber insurance offerings as the market continues to develop.
