Hiscox Re, the reinsurance arm of the Hiscox group, has rebranded from Hiscox Re & ILS to Hiscox Re and launched Hiscox Capital Partners, a new platform consolidating its third-party capital activities.
The refreshed structure unifies Hiscox’s reinsurance underwriting and capital markets operations under a single identity. Underwriting will continue from Bermuda and London, with a focus on property and specialty risks, according to InsurTech Insights.
The creation of Hiscox Capital Partners formalises nearly 20 years of capital management activity within the wider Hiscox group. The platform is designed to offer institutional investors streamlined access to Hiscox Re’s underwriting capabilities through tailored and transparent investment solutions.
By consolidating its third-party capital operations, Hiscox aims to strengthen alignment between underwriting performance and investor participation, while establishing a scalable structure to support future growth.
Liz Breeze, who was appointed last year to lead Hiscox Capital Partners, brings more than 20 years’ industry experience. She has held senior roles across the Hiscox group, including serving as chief financial officer of Hiscox Re.
Vincent Prabis will continue as managing principal, working alongside Hiscox Re CEO Kathleen Reardon and the wider leadership team to oversee capital partner relationships and platform development.
The new platform will continue managing existing investor relationships while exploring opportunities to broaden access to Hiscox Re’s portfolios. The move reflects sustained institutional demand for structured and transparent access to reinsurance risk.
Through the rebrand and the launch of Hiscox Capital Partners, Hiscox Re is positioning itself to deepen its role in the convergence of reinsurance underwriting and third-party capital, as the global reinsurance market continues to evolve.
