Akur8, the AI-driven actuarial platform, has been selected by Occident, one of Spain’s leading insurance groups, to enhance pricing capabilities across its non-life business lines.

Built specifically for insurers, Akur8’s pricing platform uses transparent machine learning technology to streamline actuarial workflows, enabling faster model development, improved transparency and more data-driven pricing decisions.

Occident currently serves more than 4.7m policyholders across Spain, and the partnership is expected to support improvements in operational efficiency, speed to market and pricing accuracy across the group’s insurance products.

The deployment of Akur8 Pricing across Occident’s business lines will provide actuarial teams with a unified platform that integrates the development and optimisation of pricing models within a single environment, removing the complexity associated with managing multiple tools.

Through its intuitive interface, automated model-building capabilities and advanced predictive analytics, the platform enables actuaries to develop sophisticated pricing models more quickly, helping insurers strengthen product innovation, improve responsiveness to market changes and drive profitability.

Samuel Falmagne, CEO of Akur8, said, “The adoption of Akur8 by Occident represents a significant step for us in the Spanish market. Its scale, expertise and commitment to reliable, high-quality insurance operations demonstrate how advanced pricing technology can support both innovation and control. We look forward to continuing to support their teams in improving the efficiency, consistency and transparency of their actuarial processes.”

Rafael Moyano, Director of Motor Insurance at Occident, said, “Akur8 combines advanced capabilities with operational simplicity. Our teams can manage the development and optimisation of models within a single intuitive platform, supported by dedicated assistance. This has helped us strengthen our processes while maintaining high standards of governance and reliability.”

Brune de Linares, Chief Client Officer at Akur8, added, “Occident maintains a strong commitment to reliability, rigorous governance and customer focus. We are proud to collaborate with them, providing ongoing support that helps their teams make the most of the Akur8 platform while maintaining high standards of control and operational excellence.”
