Pit, a Swedish AI startup developing custom enterprise software, has emerged from stealth with $16m in seed funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, as it looks to replace manual business workflows with AI-driven systems.
The funding will support Pit’s global expansion and continued development of its platform, which is designed to help enterprises move away from fragmented tools and manual processes.
The company is targeting organisations seeking more tailored software solutions aligned to their internal operations rather than relying on generic SaaS platforms.
Founded in 2025 by Adam Jafer, Filip Lindvall, Fredrik Hjelm, Anton Öberg and Fredrik Olovsson, Pit was built by a team with experience at companies including Voi Technology, Klarna and iZettle. The business focuses on enterprise workflows that remain heavily manual despite years of digital transformation investment.
Pit’s core proposition is an AI “product team as a service”, building bespoke systems that automate processes such as approvals, email-based workflows and spreadsheet-driven tasks. Rather than offering off-the-shelf tools, the platform generates customised software tailored to each company’s operations.
The company’s offering includes Pit Studio, which analyses workflows and creates software solutions, and Pit Cloud, which provides enterprise-grade infrastructure including single sign-on, role-based access controls, audit logs and compliance features.
Pit is already working with clients across sectors including logistics, telecoms, healthcare and e-commerce, with customers such as Voi, Tre, Stena Recycling and Kry. Early deployments have reportedly improved operational efficiency, increased invoice acceptance rates and reduced time spent on routine tasks.
The round also saw participation from Lakestar, members of the Stena and Lundin families, and angel investors from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Deel and Revolut.
The raise comes amid a broader shift in enterprise software, where AI is increasingly being used to manage end-to-end operational processes rather than simply automate individual tasks.
“For 20 years, enterprises have rented software that forces them to operate around it. With AI, that ends. For the first time, every company can run on systems they actually designed themselves” Pit co-founder Adam Jafer said.
Andreessen Horowitz general partner Alex Rampell said most AI companies focus on speed, while Pit aims to deliver durable systems with built-in governance, security and long-term usability.
