AXA XL, a global commercial insurance provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Samsara, the pioneer of the Connected Operations® Platform, to bring advanced fleet safety and risk management capabilities to UK operators.
The collaboration will see AXA XL integrate Samsara’s platform into its UK risk solutions suite, giving clients access to real-time data on fleet operations, vehicle health, and driver behaviour. The aim is to support proactive risk management, boost operational efficiency, and raise safety standards across fleets of varying sizes.
AXA XL head of motor underwriting, UK & Lloyd’s Poonam Jivram said, “Partnering with Samsara aligns perfectly with our vision to harness technology for better risk understanding and management, and we have seen its impact in reducing claims frequency and costs by 10-20%.
“With millions of lives affected each year by road traffic incidents, and transportation contributing roughly 25-30% of global carbon emissions, our goal is to equip clients with powerful tools that not only reduce collisions and downtime but also lower emissions and support environmentally responsible fleet operations.”
Samsara’s technology, known for its accessible interface and data analytics capabilities, will be woven into AXA XL’s existing portfolio of risk solutions, allowing fleet operators to take a more data-driven approach to safety performance.
Samsara strategic partnerships and alliances Jack Burton said, “The insurance landscape is undergoing a structural shift, where underwriters are placing greater emphasis on verifiable safety data and active risk prevention.
“We are excited to collaborate with AXA XL to bring our AI-based technology to their clients across the UK. By integrating with AXA XL’s underwriting expertise, we are empowering organisations to move away from reactive claims handling to real-time risk mitigation. Together, we are providing the tools necessary to protect drivers, reduce emissions, and build more resilient physical operations.”
