Allianz Global, Virtuoso partner to supply Canadian travelers with insurance policies

Allianz Global Assistance Canada has partnered with travel agency network Virtuoso to offer travel insurance policies.

The partnership will provide Canadian travellers with insurance policies to cover their trips and access emergency medical benefits during their travel. Virtuoso chose Allianz due to its ‘customer-first approach, expansive product suite and ability to help travelling clients experiencing medical emergencies on a global scale,’ the company said.

As a partner, Virtuoso member agencies will now benefit from dedicated sales support, revenue optimisation tools, and an online learning and development platform. Some of the cover provided by Allianz Global Assistance includes medical and financial protections in the events of trip cancellations, delays and other disruptions.

Virtuoso is a travel agency network which provides consumers with access to search and compare on holiday prices, including hotels, cruise lines, airlines and tour companies. Its platform is made up of 1,000 travel agency partners, spanning 50 countries.

Virtuoso managing director Steve Wooster said, “Allianz Global Assistance has been a valuable preferred partner with Virtuoso in the U.S. for many years.

“We’re delighted to expand our long-standing, successful partnership into Canada now. We recognize the global protection benefits and exceptional customer care that Allianz Global Assistance provides to Virtuoso members’ clients, which is part of what makes its luxury travel experiences unique.”

Earlier in the year, Allianz formed a partnership with FTP Group in a bid to increase its reach in the Vietnamese market. FTP will act as a strategic technology developer and aid Allianz with its move into the market, supplying access to distribution channels, and local market knowledge.
