Aon forms deal with Bunker to access on-demand economy

Aon has entered a commercial agreement with compliance and insurance platform Bunker to support the on-demand, sharing economy.

The deal allows Aon and its clients to access Bunker’s compliance platform and live certificate of insurance, which will ensure an organisation’s contractors, independent workers and vendors are compliant with insurance standards in real-time.

In addition to automating the insurance verification process, contractors and vendors can easily comply with requirements through usage-based insurance products which are embedded in an organisation’s onboarding process.

Bunker is expanding its reach through Aon’s network, risk management expertise, and global capabilities.

San Francisco-headquartered Bunker provides companies with business insurance solutions and compliance monitoring for independent workers and enterprises. The platform offers occupational accident insurance products for the gig economy, covering in-demand workers while they work for as little as $.030 an hour.

Aon head of the digital practice for its US Commercial Risk team Jillian Slyfield said, “Working with Bunker provides Aon with capabilities to serve Digital Economy players. The growth of the on-demand economy is changing the way many people work, and we are excited to partner with Bunker to better serve this growing segment of workers.”

Last month, Aon extended a commercial agreement with CoverWallet which helps the insurer interact with clients in Australia.
