Travel insurance startup Blink has teamed up with large Canadian travel insurer Manulife to support the rollout of its tailor-made products to consumers in the country.
Ireland-based Blink is a data-driven travel disruption insurance solution which uses real-time data to protect consumers for flight issues. Founded in 2016, the company has established several distribution partnerships across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Through a paperless service, the company eases issues caused from flight delays or cancelation with a number of benefits available. These include complimentary airport lounge access, hotel rebooking options, and instant payment for a flight delayed more than three hours.
Its new product suite will be piloted ahead of its official rollout.
Blink CEO Paul Prendergast said, “We have been working with Manulife to develop a very exciting suite of products that, once launched, will transform the customer travel insurance experience. The Manulife ethos is very much in keeping with our own focus in finding and developing innovative digital solutions with the primary goal of making customers’ travel insurance experience as efficient as possible.”
