Expense Check rebrands following close of fresh investment

Australia-based InsurTech Expense Check has rebranded to Kanopi, alongside the close of a AUD 4m ($3m) investment.

The fresh investment will help the company expand its local presence and launch into the US, as well as hire more staff, according to a report from Crowdfund Insider.

Founded in 2016, the company leverages data-driven insights to connect customers with the policies they need. Its platform can be integrated with accounting software, FinTechs and property management services to help consumers get easier access to policies.

Its website claims the company hopes to expand into retail services, logistics and digital marketplaces.

Kanopi founder and CEO Nigel Fellowes-Freeman said, “We remain committed to enabling companies to improve their understanding of their customers so they can serve them with policies that best fit their needs.

“Our new brand identity, combined with this raise, ensures a stronger foundation for us moving forward as we seek to further develop our technology and our partnerships in Australia and across new markets.”
