Lemonade grows its footprint with Ohio car insurance

Lemonade, the digital insurance company that leverages AI technology, has launched a car insurance offering in Ohio.

The launch makes Lemonade’s car insurance now available in three states: Ohio, Illinois, and Tennessee.

Lemonade’s car insurance offering, Lemonade Car, uses location technology to deliver more affordable insurance and a faster claims resolution process.

In addition, Lemonade has committed to plant trees to offset its customers carbon footprint. The InsurTech said a typical car emits 4.6 metric tons of CO2 each year; it will use the app to determine the number of trees that need to be planted in order to offset this.

The product also offers special coverage and discounts for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles.

Moreover, the app lets the company price insurance based on how the customer drives, and this includes driving less. So lower mileage drivers pay less.

In a post on the company’s website, Lemonade said, “Our claims process is fast, seamless, and hassle-free. We’ll have your back whether you file a claim after a crash, if your car’s been vandalized, or if you need a tow in the middle of nowhere.”

Lemonade also recently expanded its pet insurance offering to customers in Massachusetts.
