hyperexponential, a SaaS pricing platform for insurers, has named Fiona Talbot as its new chief financial and operations officer.
Talbot started her career in finance at PwC specialising in tax and transactions. In the chief financial and operations officer role, Talbot will bring extensive experience from her executive positions at high-growth companies like Limitless Technology, StarLeaf, Vonage and NewVoiceMedia.
Speaking on her new position as chief financial and operations officer, Talbot said, “I am beyond excited to join hx at this pivotal stage in their journey, to shape the organisational framework and deliver initiatives to support high growth and operational efficiency across its expanding global footprint.
“It’s very rare to see such a strong pull and product-market fit at such an early stage. hx is solving real problems for actuaries, underwriters, executives and IT – delivering speed, intelligence and confidence in speciality and commercial pricing.”
hyperexponential is on a mission to free the potential of actuaries and underwriters through the removal of painful, outdated pricing processes from their daily workflows. Its hx Renew solution is a web-based SaaS platform that is custom built for small, sparse and fragmented datasets that dominate specialty and commercial insurance.
The platform lets underwriters view their portfolio and assess the marginal impact of the policy they are pricing, in real-time.
Speaking on the new hire, hyperexponential co-founder and CEO Amrit Santhirasenan said, “We are delighted to welcome Fiona, and for the new phase of maturity and scale that this signals for hx.
“Since our Series A funding round last year, we have focused on improving our product and galvanising our go-to-market functions with world-class talent. Fiona will be the driving force in developing our business operations, finance and people functions so we as a business can realise our full potential.”
FinTech Global recently spoke to several players in the InsurTech sector about innovation in the space. Richard Gunn, CRO at hyperexponential, said that innovation in the world is enabled through insurance. “There are no rocket launches without insurance, driverless cars won’t be possible on public roads without insurance.”
