InsurTech Juniper raises £1.5m to launch comprehensive reproductive health cover

Juniper, a groundbreaking reproductive healthcare insurance provider, has successfully secured £1.5m in pre-seed funding.

The round was spearheaded by InsurTech Gateway, with significant contributions from 2100 Ventures, Exceptional Ventures, Heartfelt, and distinguished European angel investors including Vera Baker, Charles Delingpole, Matt Cooper, Tara Reeves, among others.

This capital injection is earmarked to catalyze Juniper’s growth by enhancing product development, expanding the team, and facilitating the pilot phase with customers in anticipation of its formal debut.

At its core, Juniper aims to fill a critical void in the health insurance market by offering comprehensive genital insurance for individuals of all genders. This innovative approach provides businesses and their employees with hassle-free access to a suite of otherwise unavailable healthcare services.

In the UK alone, a significant portion of the population faces reproductive or gynaecological challenges, with one in three women dealing with issues like PCOS and menopause, and one in four men experiencing low testosterone levels by the age of 30.

The funds will be utilised to support Juniper’s ambitious goals, including tripling its workforce, driving growth, and underpinning its pilot phase, paving the way for a successful launch. J

uniper distinguishes itself by offering all-encompassing reproductive health coverage, granting employees access to tests, routine check-ups, educational resources, community support, medical reimbursement, and care navigation. Targeted at medium to large enterprises, Juniper’s services are designed to enhance employee well-being, streamline administrative processes, and support Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

Juniper’s coverage extends to a variety of conditions and tests, such as contraception, STD testing, endometriosis, erectile dysfunction, reproductive organ cancer, gender dysphoria, egg freezing, and menopause. This makes Juniper the sole provider to address a broad spectrum of reproductive health needs.

Juniper co-founder and CEO Ambra Zhang said, “I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) early on, and my corporate health insurance didn’t cover it, as PCOS was classified as a chronic reproductive condition. So, every year, I would pay £1,000 out of pocket to see my gynaecologist get my prescription. Juniper bridges this gap by providing end-to-end reproductive health support for employees and offers tailored, high-quality insurance products for employers and brokers. Our digital platform aims to revolutionise the insurance industry by meeting the unmet needs of the new generation.”
