Chaucer Insurance, a specialty insurer and reinsurer, has joined forces with Gabriel, a Tel Aviv-based technology company, to introduce a pioneering insurance product designed specifically for mass shooting events.

Chaucer Insurance customers who opt for the active assailant cover will benefit from Gabriel’s expertise in crisis response and emergency management, according to the Coverager.

The collaboration entails the installation of an incident security dashboard by Gabriel, ensuring swift and effective crisis response in the event of an incident.

Founded in 2016, Gabriel has developed an innovative emergency response solution tailored for active shooter incidents, workplace violence, and other emergencies.

Leveraging detection and sensor technology, Gabriel’s platform swiftly sends automated alerts with video footage upon detecting a threat, providing real-time intelligence to first responders within seconds, thus significantly reducing response times and potentially saving lives.

The newly launched insurance product offers comprehensive coverage, addressing various aspects such as property damage, business interruption, and liability arising from active assailant incidents occurring at the insured premises or nearby locations.

Additionally, the coverage extends to business interruptions resulting from active assailant threats and potential loss of attraction post-incident, providing a holistic approach to risk management in such critical situations.

Through this partnership, Chaucer Insurance and Gabriel aim to provide businesses with a proactive and comprehensive insurance solution to mitigate the financial and operational impacts of mass shooting events, thereby enhancing resilience and preparedness in the face of evolving security challenges.
