Bikmo, a leading InsurTech specialising in cycling insurance, has entered into a three-year partnership with the Association of Cycle Traders (ACT), the UK’s largest cycle trade membership organisation.
This collaboration marks a major milestone for Bikmo, as it looks to expand its commercial insurance services to ACT’s 4,000 member businesses, according to InsurTech Insights.
These include independent retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, hire centres, and bike workshops, strengthening Bikmo’s commitment to supporting the cycling sector.
Bikmo, which launched its commercial insurance services in 2021, offers specialist products through trusted insurers who understand the unique needs of the cycling industry. The company already provides insurance to hundreds of cycling-related businesses, ranging from small independent retailers to a global food delivery company.
The Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) has over 100 years of experience supporting independent cycling businesses. It sees this partnership as an opportunity to offer its members even greater value through access to Bikmo’s specialised insurance services.
Starting this week, ACT Gold members will receive an additional 10% discount on business insurance, while Silver members will enjoy a 5% discount. These discounts are offered on top of other rewards available to businesses that demonstrate effective risk management.
Both Bikmo and ACT are united by their dedication to helping cycling businesses succeed. ACT believes that this partnership will further enhance the quality and breadth of services available to its members, especially during a period of significant challenge for the sector.
Rob Grisdale, global head of partnerships at Bikmo, said, “We are very excited to be working with the ACT to support their members with specialist insurance advice and cover. Insurance should be a reliable lifeline when the unexpected happens, but in recent years businesses are struggling to find cover without gaps or impracticable terms.
We feel a strong sense of duty to step up and make insurance work for, and not against, our industry cohort. The ACT, together with our trusted insurers, are perfect partners for this mission.”
Jonathan Harrison, director at the ACT, added, “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Bikmo. The partnership represents a significant step forward in our mission to support and strengthen the cycling industry. By offering our members access to specialist insurance services that understand the unique challenges of our sector, we’re ensuring that they are better equipped to thrive.”
